Day lily (Hermerocallis)

These were already growing in our yard in 2014. There are a few different types. Most of the orangest ones grow on the hill on the south side of the house near the propane tank. One of the garden tiers on the north side of the house has the redder and the paler varieties. A few volunteers have shown up in other spots. One near the mailbox this year (2022).

All were eaten by deer during the fence breakage of 2018. Many/most have recovered in subsequent years.

Typical bloom time starting mid-late June.
