Orange-crowned Warbler (Leiothlypis celata)

Rancho Lomitas, Texas, November 19, 2017

First seen during our Birding Along the Border trip to Texas in November, 2017. The birds are common down there and appear on 11 of our Texas ebird lists.

There was a visiting orange-crowned warbler hanging out for about a week in the trees next to the model airplane field at Croton Point Park in October, 2022. I managed to spot it after 3 visits to the same spot looking for it, and explaining it to one of the model airplane flyers who was certain we must all be looking for an eagle or something like that.
