I first ebirded these guys in Buenos Aires on December 29, 1992, but I remember feeding pigeons in the park as a child in St. Petersburg, Florida in the 1970s. The first one I noted in New York was flying around inside Grand Central Terminal after I started regular ebirding in 2012.
We've also seen them in Norway, Montana, Wyoming, New Jersey, Cuba, Zanzibar, Alaska, Nebraska, Colorado, Texas, Newfoundland, Massachusetts, Maine, and closer to home in Westchester.
