The first time I saw a Barn Owl was on February 26, 2016 on a birding trip in Cuba with Saw Mill River Audubon. I think it was flying across the road when we were on the bus, so no photos and not much of a look.
Years later, June 23, 2024, on a Saw Mill River Audubon field trip closer to home we visited Lido Beach Passive Nature area after an early morning visit to Nickerson Beach across the street. There was a Barn Owl cooperatively sitting and looking out of the hole in the Barn Owl Box on site.
